One of the most notable returns is the Launch Pad, a nostalgic feature from Fortnite's early days. With no vehicles around and only a few Launch Pads scattered in specific locations, players can use these to rotate quickly, launch surprise attacks, change positions strategically, or escape when needed.
In addition to the Launch Pad, two classic items make their comeback in Battle Royale and Zero Build modes—the Hunting Rifle and Cluster Clingers. These additions bring a sense of nostalgia and firepower to the Chapter 6, Season 1 loot pool. While the Chapter 5 Clingers may not have a huge impact on the current meta, the return of the original Hunting Rifle, first introduced in Season 3, fills the sniper void this season, making it a great option for high-damage, mid-to-long-range combat.
However, not all players are thrilled with the update. For the first time in seven years, the ultra-rare OG skins—Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper—are available for re-purchase in the Item Shop. This has sparked some controversy, as these skins were previously exclusive to the early days of Fortnite.
On a more festive note, Winterfest 2024 is in full swing, offering players a variety of free presents, Christmas-themed quests, new NPCs to discover, and the chance to unlock exclusive skins like the Yulejacket and Santa Snoop Dogg.
