She and her consort-husband, the Elden Lord Godfrey, would fight anyone who stood in the way of the Erdtree in order to protect it.

Queen Marika the Eternal was put in a position where she had no choice but to submit to the Great Will and cast out both her husband and her lover. She did this because she had no other choice.

As a result of being corrupted by the Erdtree, other people started to experience a fall in their own grace. Each was banished from the Lands Between, but they were unable to die because Queen Marika tampered with the Elden Ring. This kept them from being able to die. Because of this, they became immortal. After everything was said and done, Queen Marika's firstborn was brutally murdered, which led to the Elden Ring being shattered into a million pieces.

The Invitation to the Erdtree

After the Elden Ring was broken up into runes, the demigods immediately began competing with one another for the honor of becoming the new Elden Lord. When they got back to the Land Between, very few of the Tarnished were able to notice the Grace that had been bestowed upon them. Some individuals were transported to the Roundtable Hold because they had worked hard enough to earn their spot there, while others were called there by a different being. The Two-finger Maidens would select a select group of Tarnished to act as mentors for in the expectation that those Tarnished would one day ascend to the role of Elden Lord.

Some of the Tarnished made their way back to the Lands Between, but unfortunately, not all of them were able to keep the hope alive. At some point, they would cave in and become Bloody Fingers.
